Mark Wylie was born in Adelaide, and lives with his family in the Adelaide Hills. He has worked in the family business (now known as the Wylie Group) in a variety of roles, starting from a cadetship and working his way up to management. He has also worked for the Australian Institute of Management in the area of management advising.

Favouring an analytical approach to equity investing, he has undertaken research into Warren Buffett’s methods, and has also gained the ability to successfully communicate this style of investing in a logical manner. In 2003 he completed a Diploma in Financial Advising. He has also undertaken study in the areas of supervision, management and company directorship.

In early 2002 Mark Wylie launched Business Perspective Investing Pty Ltd, with the objective of helping investors understand long-term investing and prepare a set of strategies for themselves that would yield them profitability and improved returns into the future. It started as an educational company, with internet resources and a newsletter, and now focuses on investment learning methodology, investment books and administration services.
